In 1935 the steelpan pioneers made a transition from bamboo to metal.The Tamboo Bamboo Band led by Lord Humbugger,discarded their lenghts of bamboo and took to the streets a full complement of metal containers that included garbage bins and covers,biscuit drums,bottles,chamber pots and metal spoons.Norman Darway is believed to be the most informed elders on the origin and the history of the SteelBand/Pan.Norman Darway spends much of his time researching and contributing about the birth and the evolution of the SteelBand/pan.Winston "Spree" Simon and Addawell Sampson changed the traditional style of the steel pan to a modern style. With more than four decades of playing,composing and performing Prince Bernard is considered a master of the steel pan.
